NB-Fi LPWA network

Long range. Low cost. Highly scalable

NB-Fi low power wide area network

The NB-Fi network is designed specifically for IoT and M2M applications and is built as a star topology network without mesh. Autonomous smart devices communicate with gateways across a wide area. All data collected from the gateways is processed on servers and displayed on the customer's IoT cloud platform.

Network types

ETI provides three types of IoT network. They differ from one another in range, capacity, suitable solutions, relevant equipment and terms of use.

NB-Fi LPWA network

Public network

An extremely wide public network for operators is best suited to massive, easily scalable IoT and M2M applications within a state or a country.

The most powerful full-duplex base stations with sector antennas, providing superior coverage within a radius of 30 km in open areas.

More than 2,000,000 smart devices per base station provide high and sufficient capacity.

Managed by the network operator.

Cloud server hosted by the network operator.

Provided under the terms of an ETI license.

NB-Fi LPWA network

Private network

A private network is used for locally based single or multiple IoT solutions within a given urban area.

The most powerful full-duplex base stations with sector antennas, providing superior coverage within a radius of 10 km in urban areas.

More than 2,000,000 smart devices per base station provide high and sufficient capacity.

Managed by ETI.

Cloud server hosted by ETI.

Cloud platform available worldwide.

Provided on subscription terms based on the number of smart devices.

NB-Fi LPWA network

Enterprise network

An enterprise network for the rapid deployment of low-cost, company-based IoT applications within the small area of a plant or an office. It can also be used for smart home applications and for development.

Compact, low-cost mini IoT gateways with medium-range coverage.

Managed by ETI.

Cloud server hosted by ETI.

Cloud platform available worldwide.

Provided on subscription terms based on the number of smart devices.

Key features of the NB-Fi network

Low deployment cost

Infrastructure for large-scale Internet of Things solutions and M2M applications should not cost much. The NB-Fi network is designed to meet low-cost requirements for both deployment and maintenance.

Low power consumption

ETI radio modules achieve long-range network connectivity through short data bursts that draw only about 50 mA. The rest of the time, the system draws just a few mA. The result? These batteries, roughly the size of an AA cell, can last for years, reducing cost and maintenance.

Flexible ISM frequencies

NB-Fi supports radio hardware and compliant MAC architectures for use in the 915 MHz, 868 MHz, 500 MHz and 433 MHz ISM bands. This makes our network ideal for global companies looking for high-performance, long-range IoT and M2M network solutions.

High scalability

NB-Fi provides perfect network scalability options. A single base station has ample capacity to handle more than 2 million devices within its range. This means you simply add more devices and do not have to worry about adding gateways.

Multifunctional

Telematics data can be collected from a variety of smart devices, sensors or microcontrollers in any industry worldwide. Water, electricity and gas meters can easily coexist in a single NB-Fi network alongside any other smart devices or sensors. One network for a variety of IoT applications.

Decentralized resilient architecture

A decentralized, resilient architecture allows base stations to perform a large part of the network processing locally, which enables the system to keep operating at full functionality through a network blackout.

Ease of use

Enables HV sensor integration and data/IT integration. ETI makes it easy to launch your M2M application. Integration is straightforward with preconfigured radio modules, ready-to-use software libraries and robust gateways. We let your team spend its time preparing your application for market instead of re-creating low-level wireless interfaces.

Coordinated

Enables high security, service-level monitoring and network protocol management. Most deployments require more than one gateway to provide service coverage across a wide area or multiple installations. By maintaining tight integration between the server-side data system and the gateways, frequency usage can be coordinated across multiple access points. Security is maintained through two-way data encryption from the endpoint throughout the entire data system. Encryption and key sharing can also be managed across the entire network.

Long range

With the longest communication link range on the LPWAN market, the NB-Fi network becomes an efficient network capable of covering truly wide areas. At present, the NB-Fi link reaches 10 km in urban environments and up to 30 km in open areas. Greater range means fewer stations are needed to cover a given area, along with lower deployment and maintenance costs.
